KENT HOP-PICKERS.
BETTER CAMPS NOW. (Special.— By Air Mail.) LONDON", August 31. Londoners preparing for their annual trek in Kent, where the hop-picking season is beginning, will find a great improvement in conditions at the camps where they will live. Following questions in Parliament, strong measures have been taken by local authorities to prevent overcrowding. Growers have been asked to fill in forms stating the number of pickers they intend to employ. Dr. Nicol Galbraith, Medical Officer of Health for the South-west Kent United area, has sent out a notice recommending the type of hut most suitable. The hop crop "should be plentiful and of high quality. Picking will begin at the end of the week.
