SHIPPING NEWS.

[ MARAMA FOR SYDNEY. MONTEREY IN" THE MORNING. The Union Company's passenger steamer Marama arrived from Wellington this morning and is bertlied at the Prince's wharf. She sails at 6 p.m. to-day for Sydney with passengers, mails and cargo. The Matson liner Monterey will arrive from Sydney at 7 a.m. to-morrow, berthing at the Queen's wharf about 7.15. Sixty-six passengers join her when she sails at 5 p.m. in continuation of her voyage to San Francisco, via Suva, Pago Pago, Ilonolulii and Los Angeles. She is due at her terminal port on October 7. The wharves are still busy, and all the warships will be in port over the week-end, three arriving to-day. Port Fairy completed loading and sailed for London, via Capo Horn and Dakar, at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. She is duo at London on October 25. (Farmers' Co-op.) Triona discharged the balance of her phosphates at the King's wharf yesterday and left for Nauru Island shortly after 5 p.in. (8.P.C.) New Zealand Star is duo from Napier and Wellington on Sunday evening. She sails for London on Tuesday week (8.5.L.) Cape York is due to arrive on Sunday from Pacific Coast ports with general cargo. Rangitiki left London yesterday for Auckland, via Panama, with passengers, mails and cargo. She is due to arrive here on October 23. (N.Z.S. Co.) H.M.S. Leith arrived from the Islands shortly before noon to-day, going to her berth at Calliope wharf. She has been absent since June 11. (Naval Dept.) H.M. ships Dunedin and Diomede arrived from gunnery practice in the Gulf at 12.45 p.m. to-day, resuming their usual berths at Devonport. They leave again on Monday. (Naval Dept.) H.M.S.
