GLUT OF LEMONS. BANANAS SHORT. APPLES IN DEMAND. Although there is only a fair demand for Island tomatoes, local hothouse tomatoes, which are scarce, are keenly sought after and are fetching high priecs. There is also a temporary shortage of ripe bananas, but suiiplics will be more plentiful nexc week when the Waipahi's shipment ripens. Apples are still selling fairly well, but the sale of pears in still slow, while lemons are a glut on the i market. There is not much demand for pineapples and tree tomatoes. Quotations; — Apples: Statesman, 9/ to 10/6; Delicious, 7/6 to 10/; Stunners, 8/ to 10/; Granny Smith, (}/ to 9/; Dougherty, 6/6 to 7/6; Rome Beauty, 9/ to 10/6. Pears: Coles and IS'clis, three-quarter cases, 7/ to 8/6; bushels, 9/ to 11/: P. Barry, 6/ to 8/ Passions, 6/ to 12/. Plums: Californian, 16/ to 17/ per case. Oranges: South Australian, 17/6 to 24/; Island, 19/ to 22/. Lemons: Cured; 4/ to 5/; others, 2/6 to 3/. Mandarins: Australian, 25/ to 27/0. Grapefruit: New Zealand, large, 5/6 to 6/6; small, 5/ to 5/6; Californian, 32/6. Tomatoes: Island, repacks, 5/ to 6/6; hothouse, 1/7 per lb. Bananas: 21/ to 28/. Tree tomatoes: Black, 6/ to 7/; others, 3/ to 6/. Pines: Queensland, 12/ to 14/'. Grapes: Californian, red, 29/; white, 31/. Coconuts: 14/. Vegetables. Heavy supplies of cabbage and cauliflower have been offered during the past two days and kuiuaras are also more plentiful, all three selling to-day at higher prices than ruled last week. New potatoes vere also in rather heavy supply, prices easing a little. High prices were received to-day lor onions and Southern potatoes, of which there is a shortage. Larger supplies of peas are now available and to-day's prices ranged from Od to lOd per lb. Asparagus was also more plentiful than recently, resulting in slightly lower prices. Quotations:—

Poultry. At to-day's auctions the supply of poultry was medium. The demand for table birds was keen and prices were a little higher than they were last week, but pullets sold cheaply. Selling rates were as follow: Cockerels, heavy breeds, prime, 4/6 to 6/6 each; not prime, 2/6 up; light breeds, prime, 3/6 to 4/6; not prime, 1/6 up; fat roosters, heavy breeds, prime, 2/6 to 3/6; light breeds, 1/6 to 2/6; fat hens, heavy breeds, 3/ to 4/; light breeds, 2/ to 3/; pullets, heavy breeds, best, 3/ to 4/6; smaller, 1/6 up; light breeds, best, 2/6 to 3/6; smaller, 1/6 lip; drakes, young, prime, 2/ to 3/; smaller, 1/6 up; ducks, young, 2/ to 3/; old, 1/6 to 2/6: drakes, old, 1/6 to 2/6; turkey liens, 5/ to 6/6; gobblers, 5/ to 12/: cockerel chicks, heavy breeds, 9d to 1,/; light breeds, Id to lOd; day-old chicks, Black Orpington, 3d to 6d; Leghorn, 3d to Cd; guinea fowls, 3/ to 3/6.

Butter and Eggs. Prices for hen eggs remain unaltered, but first grade duck eggs have been reduced Id per dozen. Hen: First grade. llV&d per dozen: 1} grade, 9'/&d; C grade, BV£d. Duck: First grade, 10V&J per dozen; B grade, 9%d; C grade, 7Vid. Farmers' Hutter.—Sd to 1/1 per lb.
