HOSPITAL DISPUTE.

APPOINTMENT OF MATRON. "NOT PREPARED TO ACCEPT." (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. A eomewhat sensational development has taken place in connection with the Waihi Hospital dispute. A letter has been received from Miss May Currie, of the Auckland Hospital, who was recently appointed matron of the Waihi Hospital, to the effget that she wishes to be relieved of and is not prepared to take up the appointment. On Wednesday evening the secretary of the hospital received a message from Wellington stating that the Minister of Health had approved of Mies Currie's appointment. It is understood that no explanation dealing with her decision in the matter is given by Miss Currie. A special meeting of the board has been convened for Tuesday evening next, when matters of importance realing with the starting problem generally will be discussed.
