DEPUTATION TO CAPITAL.

FINDING EMPLOYMENT.

Tn view of the urgency of finding employment for as many as possible oi the unemployed in Auckland, the City Council last night, on the recommendation of the Employment Committee, decided to send the city engineer, Mr. J. Tyler, and the deputy-Mayor, Mr. J>. Martin, to Wellington to wait upon the Local Government Loans Board and .urge that the matter of dealing with the council's loan proposals be dealt with by tho board as expeditiously as possible with a view to an early start of these works.

Mr. F. E. Lark quoted a published statement made by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Coatcs, that the Government had been having difficulty in finding works for the unemployed. "There has never been any difficulty in finding useful work in Auckland," he said.
