MIDDLESEX DUE TO-NIGHT. SHXNTOKU MARTJ SAILS. The Federal steamer Middlesex will arrive late to-night from Liverpool and West of England ports. She will djscharge at the Queen's wharf, later going to Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin, The Japanese training harquehtine Shintoku Maru left the 'King's wharf at 2 p.m. to-day on her return to .Japan, after a stay in port of exactly a week. During the visit, which is the second time the vessel has been here, the officers and crew were entertained by citizens, clubs and institutions interested in the eea. Sheaf Holme is expected to make port from the Pacific Coast, alao Papeete, late to-morrow night. She will berth on Wednesday morning at the King's wharf. (U.S.S. Co'.) Canadian Planter will arrive from Montreal at <i p.m. to-morrow. She brings general cargo and will berth at Prince's wharf. She also discharges at Wellington and Australian ports. (C.N.S.) Niagara, which left Auckland on August 22 for Vancouver, via Suva and Honolulu, arrived at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday. She leaven Vancouver on her return to Auckland next Saturday. (U.S.S. Co.) Monterev wae due at Sydney at midday to-cktt from Auckland. She goes on to MelboiSKrae and leaves Sydney for Auckland on September 18, arriving on Saturday, 21st, at 7 a.m., sailing for San Francisco at 1 p.m. the same day. (11. and M.) Karepo, which arrived from Melbourne at 7.20 yesterday morn ing, is due to sail for Wellington at eight o'clock tonight. (U.S.S. Co.) Omana i* discharging , cargo from Australia, at Queen's wliarl and is due to leave for Wellington to-morrow afternoon. (U.S.S. Co.) Wingatui arrived at 11.40 a.m. to-day from southern ports, berthing at Prince's wharf. She sails for the south again on Friday. (U.S.S. Co.) H.M.S. Dunedin came out of Calliope Dock at 2.30 p.m. to-day and berthed alongside H.M.S. Diome'de at Devonport. (Naval Dept.) Waipahi arrived at Suva on Saturday from Sydney. She leaves on Thursday for Auckland and is due here next Tuesday. (U.S.S. Co.) Mernoo, after discharging the Auckland portion of her hardwood cargo from Bunbury, West Australia, was due to sail at r> p.m. to-day for Wellington. (W. and W.) Mariposa, wfiich left Auckland on August 24, arrived at Sun Francisco this morning. She sails on her return to Auckland via ports on September 17 and is duo here on October 4. (H. and M.)
