TYPHOID AMONG MAORIS. <By Telegraph.- -Preijs Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday. An outbreak of typhoid fever ■ has occurred among the Maoris of South Taranaki. Three deaths have taken place in the past few weeks. The last one was a child on Friday and the burial was supervised by the health authorities. Over 20 eases are being treated at tho Hawera Hospital. They have been isolated and strict precautions are being taken by the Health Department to prevent'the infection spreading. Maoris at Ohawe, Okaiawa and Te Itoti" are being inoculated. ' The Ohawe Beach settlement, near Hawera, is the most seriously affected.
