RADIO ANNIVERSARY.

A delightful social, evening was. held at station IZM, Manurewa, last Saturday evening on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the station and also of the -birthday of its owner, Mr. W. W- Rodgers. The opportunity was taken to make several presentations from announcers, artists and friends. A large birthday cake was surmounted by two aerial masts with IZM attached to the aerial wire and the names of all the Uncles and aunts ot the station written over the cake. Mrs.' Rodgers received the guests in a very smart gown of black georgette, embroidered in soft colours, with black velvet bridge coat, finished with diamante clip. Among those present .were: Mrs. Gates, in black georgette; Mrs. J. A. Sherriff, black marocain with silver trimmings, ring velvet bridge coat; Mrs. T. H. Ashe, navy satin trimmed cherry; Miss V. G. Wiseman, Lido floral crepe de chine; Miss J. Williams, apricot Silk crepe frock with black velvet coat, trimmed with fox fur and spray of white hyacinths: :Miss Ashe, Lido check wool crepe; Mrs. .Phillips, navy trimmed c-ange, "Cranny,"'early Victorian frock in blue brocade, hlacX "mittens, pan velvet shawl; Mrs. L. Walker, brown ring velvet, diamante studded.
