SALES OF MILK.
AUCKLAND DAILY AVERAGE. Returns submitted to the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council this morning, covering the council's area, show that for the month of June last the average daily quantity of milk sold was 15,233 gallons. For June of last year the average sales daily amounted to 14,194 gallons. The returns are supplied for each month since April, 1934, the highest sales being recorded in December last when the average daily sale was 17,243 gallons "I might say the returns would go up a lot more if tliis council had the power it is seeking through the proposed amendments to the Act to enable it to launch a propaganda programme and place it before the public," said the chairman, Mr. G. W. Hutchison. Mr. Trousdale: Mr. Coates brought a lot of pamphlets back from England with him dealing with milk. I think we should write and ask him for them. Mr. Takle: The time has come for this council to issue a pamphlet of its own.
The Chairman: We have no power to do that unless we get the amendments through.
