TRADE IN JULY.
EXPORTS EXCEED IMPORTS. INCREASE IN BOTH TOTALS. (By Telegraph.—'Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An increase in the value of both exports and imports for July, compared with the level for the same month last vear, is shown in the overseas trade returns issued by the Customs Department in Wellington. The increase of exports amounts to £307,000 and that of imports to £80,000. All amounts are in New Zealand currency and are exclusive of specie. The, actual value of exports during July was £3,218,000, of imports £2.947.000, while the excess of exports was £271,000. The figures for July, 1934, in the same order were £2,851,000 and £2,807,000. Though the excess of exports over imports for July, 1935, reversed the position of July, 1931, it-is well below the total of £1,052,000 by which exports exceeded imports in July, 1933. For the 12 months ended in July, in each of the past three years the ligures are: — Exports. Imports.
