MILK FOR BABIES.

A letter in last Friday's issue of the "Star" signed by A. Bennett contains statements which are entirely inaccurate and must be contradicted. The letter refers to the Milk Council having solemnly passed a decree that mothers shall not'have fresh milk for their babies, nor get it when they need it. This statement is quite contrary to fact. The Milk Council has not discouraged, nor has any intention of restricting, the sale of raw milk, and in fact sales of this grade of milk constitute 30 per cent of the total milk sold. .In several cases where it has been represented that two deliveries of raw milk were necessary for sick babies or invalids, arrangements have been made to permit this. XORMAN R. CHAPMAN. ■Sec. and Treasurer, Auckland Milk Council.
