THE FORDELL TEAM.
ZLIAS BACKWARD. PREVAIL DOING WELL. WANGANUI, Monday. D. Marks, who now presides over the Fordell stables, owing to the continued wet weather, has not been able to give his team as much work as he would have liked As a result he will not run Ilias in the Wanganui Guineas, that filly being very backward. Mr. W. McA. Duncan will, however, be represented by Prevail, and the Chief Ruler filly should be fairly well forward. She will be given a run at Marton and will be seen out in the maiden at Wanganui the first . day. These races should brighten her up for the classic event. Prevail showed a lot of speed in her races last season, and as she appears ■to have become more solid she should run out a fast mile. Marks will .also take Waipiro to Mar;on. Mother Superior is said to be a bit above herself in condition, though she wintered well. If Marks can put the work .into her during the next two weeks she should be in good shape for the Wanganui meeting. Lady Hoariri has had a slight cold and was physicked last week, but she seems to be herself again and will probably be taken to New Plymouth, where she is engaged in the Wereroa Handicap on Thursday. Lady Hoariri sprinted three furlongs on Saturday in 38 3-ss.
