SHOP ROBBED.
KEYS TAKEN FROM COUNTER. ROYAL OAK THEFT. Thieves used the owner's keys, which had been missed during the afternoon, lo enter Glover's grocery stores at Royal Oak during the early hours of this morning. A small amount of silver was stolen from the till and the stock was examined by the intruder, but it could not be ascertained to-day whether any of the latter had been taken. A passer-by picked up a key on the footpath outside the shop at 4.45 a.m. and noticed that the padlock that usually secured the front door was missing and the door was ajar. Ho immediately informed the police by telephone. A police constable had passed the shop at 3.30 a.m. and had seen nothing amiss. It is suspected that the thief took the keys from the shop counter, where they were lying when ■ they were last seen by members of the staff.
