TWO NEW BRIDGES.

GREAT SOUTH ROAD. ENI> OP WORK IN SIGHT. Work on two new bridges on the Great South Road, one over Slippery Creek, about half a mile north of Drury, and the other at Pokeno, is almost completed. Little construction worle remains to be done on the bridge near Drury. The approaches are now being formed, and it is expected the bridge will be available to traffic early next month. The bridge at Pokeno is nearly finished, and as soon as work on it is completed, the remaining unsealed 58 chains of the Great South Road in the Franklin County will be sealed. It is hoped that this stretch will be ready before Christmas, by which time there will be a dustless highway from Auckland almost as far as Hamilton.
