NEW ZEALAND STAR.
ARRIVES FROM LONDON. PASSAGE OF THIRTY DAYS. The New Zealand Star, one of the Blue Star Line's new motor ships, arrived at 3.35 a.m. to-day from Loudon, via Panama. The journey occupied 30 days G hours, the average speed being 15.0 knots. Weather conditions were good until nearing the New Zealand coast, when she met with fresh head winds for the past week from west to sou'-west, but the vessel almost maintained her average speed throughout. She brought 10 passengers, who were taken aboard at London, after which she stopped off Plymouth to pick up the mail. She came through the Panama Canal 13 days out. Captain G. Wilson is in command, his oflicers being as follows:—Chief, Mr. R. H. Wills; second, Mr. R. S. Hopper; third, Mr. M. B. M. Lallack; fourth, Mr. A. H. Dare; cadet, Mr. M. Murphy; chief engineer, Mr. D. McR-ae; senior second, Mr. T. Vcnables, junior second, Mr. If. O'Kauc; third. Mr. J. McNabb. Mr. W. Westall is chief refrigerating engineer and Mr. G. Niblocic chief steward. The ship's surgeon is Dr. Spong. The vessel remains in port until Friday, when she leaves for Port Chalmers.
