IL DUCE DETERMINED

'"WE. CANNOT DRAW BACK." LEAGUE OF NATIONS CHALLENGED. SANCTIONS WILL START A WORLD WAR. TERMS OF PACT WITH FRANCE REVEALED. In most direct and unequivocal terms, Signor Mussolini, in a special interview with a noted British journalist, states Italy's determination on the conquest of Abyssinia for colonial expansion. II Duce states that the voting of sanctions by the League of Nations will mean Italy's instant withdrawal from Geneva, and will precipitate another Great War, as such action would be resisted with all Italy's force by land, sea and air. 11 Duce reveals for the first time the agreement with France to afford him a free hand in East Africa and emphasises Italy's need of territory for expansion which would be provided in Abyssinia. Italy, also, he states, resents being sacrificed in order to restore the prestige of the League.
