BILLIARDS.
AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. D. WHITE WINS TITLE. The final session of the Auckland provincial amateur billiards championship for the Billiards, Limited, shield, was played on Saturday at Messrs. Billiards, Limited, showrooms, when M. D. White maintained his consistent efforts throughout the session and finished with a fine average of 11 points per cue for the 1000 points. The final scores were:—M. D. White, 1000 (breaks of 33, 35, 36, 25, 61, 43, 28, 29), beat L. F. W. Holdsworth, 76T (breaks Of 24, 24. 29, 34, 26). Mr. C. 'X. Cummins, on behalf of Messrs. Billiards, Limited, presented the shield to Mr. White, to be held by his club, Commercial Travellers', for one year. He also received a gold medal. Mr. Holdsworth was presented with the set of balls used in the championship.
