The Dogger Bank is an extensive sandbank in the North Sea, between the coasts of Denmark and England. It extends from near the coast of Scarborough to within 60 miles of the coast of Jutland. It is about 320 miles long and from 40 to 60 miles broad. In 17S1 a naval engagement was fought on the bank between the Dutch and the English fleets. Neither could claim the victory.
