COW KILLED BY TRAIN.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A Jersey heifer was killed by the train which reaches Whangarei from the North, shortly before, 0 a.m. to-day. Tho animal had apparently strayed on to the line nt the Manse Street Crossing, where it was struck by the engine and carried down to the Convent School on the cowcatcher. The owner of the animal is ut present unknown.
