LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

GATE TAKINGS GO UP.

£500 INCREASE ON 1934. SOUTH ISLAND TOUR MOOTED. Mr. G. Grey Campbell presided at last night's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League, and took pleasure in reporting that the takings for club matches this season were just over £500 better than those ia 1934, and exceeded by £1200 the takings in 1931. During the past ten weeks heavy rain had fallen each Saturday, otherwise the figures would have been even more satisfactory.

It was decided to send an Auckland team on a short tour of the South Island later in the season. Matches will be plaj-ed, at Christehurch, West Coast and Wellington. The Xew Zealand Maori Control Board was granted the use of Carlaw Park next Wednesday to play a Waitangi Shield match between Hawke's Bay and Tamaki, holder of the trophy. A request from the South Auckland League for a junior representative match against a third grade Auckland team was declined.

A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. JF. W. Dickson for a presentation of two gold medals. The allocation will be made after next Saturday's matches. The Marist Club was congratulated on winning the senior reserve grade championship. SATURDAY'S PROGRAMME.
