The Mount Eden branch of the New Zealand Labour party will hold a public meeting at the Methodist Hall, Dominion Koad, this evening, at 8 o clock. The speakers will be Mr. Walter Nash, M.P., national president of the Labour party, and Mr. W. T. Anderton, Labour candidate for Eden. A small boy, John Clarke, aged 8, son of Mr. F. G. Clarke, of Whitiora, had an index finger and the tip of his next finger severed at Whitiora school by an axe which was wielded by another boy, who -was chopping wood.
