WOMEN'S PRISON CAMP.

New South Wales has a prison camp system in which good conduct gaol inmates are selected for a life in the country, at work in the lnish, during the remainder of their terms. They are employed at farm and afforestation work, and the scheme has proved very successful in improving the mental and physical condition and outlook of the men. The Government has now decided to extend the system to the women prisoners. A camp is to be established outside the chief metropolitan gaol, which is some distance from the city and has an extensive area of land round it. The good conduct women are'to be given healthful occupation in growing garden stuff and flowers and other useful work, and it is expected that it will assist considerably in their rehabilitation ae law-abiding citizens.
