MATCH TO-MORROW.
TAMAKI V. TAKAHIWAI
The first challenge match of the season for the Waitangi Shield will be played at Carl aw Park to-morrow afternoon, when the holders of the trophy lamaki will meet a strong side from North Auckland. Play will commence at 3 p.m. and it will be preceded by Maori hakas. lhere will be no curtain-raiser. Keen interest is being displayed in the contest, which promises to produce fast and open football of the type usually served up by members of the Maori race. The Auckland side is a strong one, but the challengers have been drawn from a much wider area than in the past and are expected to prove worthy opponents for the Tiome side. Should the Tamaki thirteen win they will havo to resist a further challenge from Taranaki in a fortnight's time from tomorrow. ... The teams for to-morrow s clash will line out as follow: — Takahiwai (North Auckland). -Pullback D. Paki; three-quarters, P. Jones, Toki, I). Mackie; five-eighths, B. Pitman, Cross; half-back, S.
