GRAMMAR SCHOOL DANCE

OLD BOYS' ANNUAL FUNCTION. The blue and gold colours of the Auckland Grammar School formed a canopy of streamers over the ballroom floor of the Peter Pan Cabaret last evening on the occasion of the annual ball of the Old Boys' Association. Replicas of the lion of the Grammar School badge were to be seen in front of the orchestra and in various parts of the ballroom. Cubicles had been reserved for representatives of other colleges and decorated in the colours of the particular school. Among the colleges thus represented were Mount Albert Grammar School, Sacred Heart College, King's College, Takapuna Grammar School, and the English Public Schools' Club. The distribution of novelties added greatly to the spirit of festivity which prevailed throughout the evening. An exhibition of the quickstep and rumba was given by Mr. Jock Hutchison and Miss Pe§gy Upton.

The guests were welcomed by the president, Mr. Victor Macky, and Mrs. Mackv, who was wearing a frock of wine ring velvet. The ball committee consisted of Messrs. S. K. Burcher, Bernard Morris, A. J. (Savers and A. L. Simmonds.
