LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
GREY LYNN. The Grey Lynn branch of the League of Mothers held the usual monthly meeting in St. Columba. Hall, Surrey Crescent, Mrs. Hynes presiding. A vote of sympathy was passed to Miss Davis and Mrs. Hogwood on their recent bereavements. Mrs. Young recited. Mrs. Stalhvorthy was the speaker and <;ave an address on "Women's Part in World Affairs." HOE-O TAINUI. At the annual mcetinjr Mrs. Elliott presided. Election of officers for the ensuing year resulted in the re-election of Mrs. Elliott as president and Mrs. Reeve as secretary and treasurer. Mrs. Harrison was eleeted vice-president and the new eommitee were Mesdames Ilosking, Jensen, Laing and Jacobs. ONEHUNGA. Mrs. W. .1. Jordan presided at the usual monthly meeting held 011 Thursday. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Poole, who gave an instructive musical recital, illustrating the changing seasons of the year. NEWTON EAST. The monthly meeting of the Newton East branch of the League of Mothers was held on Wednesday, Mrs. Ohms presiding. The Remuera No. 3 branch, who had arranged the programme and provided the afternoon tea, were present in large numbers. Songs by Mrs. Tlatt and recitations by Mrs. Scott were greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Wright, president of the Rcmucra No. 3 branch, spoke brightly. Aunt Jean of IYA gave a talk 011 the experiences of a radio aunt. MOUNT ALBERT. The Mount Albert branch of the League of Mothers held its ninth annual meeting and election of officers on Thursday last, Mrs. Mcßride, assisted by Mrs. Laird, presiding. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs. M. Turner; vice-presidents, Mrs. 11. Turner and Mrs. Mcßride, the Mayoress and ministers' wives ex officio; secretary, Mrs. Ilunciman; assistant secretary and reporter, Mrs. S. Pearce; treasurer, Mrs. Whitwcll; magazine secretary, Mrs. Sharpies; social conveners, Mrs. Browne and Mrs. Mcßride; Whakatnne representative, Mrs. Runciman; convener of thought for month, Mrs. Wattam; fund collector, Mrs. Mills. A committee was elected comprising many former members and some new ones.
