HARBOUR DEVELOPMENT.
SCHEME ADOPTED AT TIMARTJ. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) TIMARU, Friday. The Timaru Harbour Board by nine votes to four to-day adopted the report of a special committee, which recommended the adoption of a harbour improvement scheme .is suggested by the harbourmaster. Captain H. White. The scheme provides for the extension of the mole forming the north side of the harbour, widening the entrance ami! deepening the channel. Under the scheme j vessels would have a straight run into ■ port. j The board ;ilso decided to secure the) services of a resident engineer. 1
