SPORTSMAN'S DEATH.
The death occurred in Hawke's Bay this week of Mr. M. D. McLeod, for many years an enthusiastic supporter of racing. Among the horses he raced was the Martian mare Soldier's Love, who went to Australia and became the dam of Strephon. The deceased was the father of Mr. D. McLeod, who took Araunah to Melbourne, where he has taken up his residence.
