CITY COUNCIL STAFF.

RELATIVES ELIGIBLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Declaring that it is unfair to the relatives of men who are giving free service to the public to debar them from the opportunity of employment which is open to others, several councillors at a meeting of the Wellington City Council last night supported the committee's recommendation that the >egulation making brothers, sisters and children of councillors ineligible for permanent appointment to the council staff be rescinded. The recommendation was adopted by nine votes to five.
