To please her fiance, a young Jewes« of Podgorze, near Krakow, had her glorious hair shingled. Then the young man, apparently preferring long hair after all, married a wealthy widow famous for the beauty of her hair. The jilted girl retaliated by suing her former lover at the Rabbinical Court, which awarded her damages amounting to £1000. Ihe case is now pending before a Crown Court.
