Production of fancy woollen and worsted fabrics at prices which will enable manufacturers to compete with foreigners has now, it is claimed, been made possible for the first time by a new type of loom which has been invented b.y a Blackburn, Lanes., engineering firm. Tests in a Yorkshire factory have shown that the high-speed manufacture of fancy dress and coating fabrics in colour on automatic looms is a practical proposition.
