MONTEREY FOR SYDNEY.

ROTORUA FOR IXJNTKJN.

The Matson liner Monterey arrived from San Francisco shortly after o'clock this morning, berthing at the Prince's wharf. She sails this evening for Svdnev and Melbourne. The Federal steamer Hertford arrived from Liverpool last night, berthing this morning at the King's wharf. The Rotorua sails foi London at 7 a.m. to-morrow. She has 147 passengers in addition to a nil cargo. The Columbia arrived from Ocean Island shortly after noon to-clay and will berth at the King's wharf. The tanker Toorak is expected to-morrow, but may be delayed, as there is hard easterly gale off the coast, which the Monowai and other vessels are experiencing. Monterey experienced hard easterly weather Hearing the coast. She sails for Sydney at 8 p.m. to-day. (11. and M.V . Rotorua will complete loadhig for London this evening, sailing at 7 a.m. to-morrow for London, where she is due on August 22. (N.Z.S. Co.) Columbia was delayed by the hard easterly outside, arriving from Ocean Island at noofi to-day. She has 7950 tons of phosphate to unload here, after which "she goes into Calliope Dock. (8.P.C.)

Huia sailed for Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne early this afternoon. (C.T. Co.) Sydney Maru, which arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon, sailed again shortly after midnight for Sydney and Brisbane, en route to Japan.
