(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")
WELLINGTON, this day
At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference this morning the applications of C. R. Powell and L. H. Watson for the remission of the balance of their terms of disqualification were refused. -
Following the report of the chairman of the stipendiary stewards, Mr. C. Gomer, it was decided to recommend clubs to reduce tlie interval between races. The report also suggested that the minimum weight should be 8.0 during the winter months.
The report of the dates committee included a resolution that the dates for tlie four days' racing applied for by tlie Marlborough Racing Club be not approved until the club satisfies the executive that the club has paid all stakes owing and is in a financial position to justify carrying on in tho future. When a day of racing at which a totalisator may be used becomes available for allocation the executive committee may grant the use of such a day to any club not necessarily located in the district in which the day's racing became vacant.
