An old identity of Auckland, Mrs. C. Carter, of Heine Bay, celebrated her 01st birthday on Wednesday at the residence of her son, Kmmett Street. Mrs. Carter has been 70 years a resident of Auckland. Tito girls' committee of the \ ictoria Leaguelield its monthly bridge party at the Evelyn Firth Home for Returned Soldiers on Thursday afternoon. Prizes were won by Mr. Oakden and Mr. Skillen. Among the players were: Miss Wyn Kent (convener), Miss Jean Kent, Miss Alison Laerv, Miss Trixie Lamb, Miss Lottie Oe Boissiere, and Miss Rosanne Lovell.
