OPERATIC SOCIETY.
SOCIAL AND DANCE. The monthly social evening and dance of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society was held in the rehearsal hall, Grafton Road, on Wednesday. There was a large gathering of members and friends. The committee had taken this opportunity of entertaining all who had helped in various capacities during the production of "A Runaway Girl." The music was much appreciated, and the dancers were in a decidedly happy mood. A very enjoyable programme was provided, those contributing being Mrs. John Farrell (Wellington), songs; Mr. Frank Easson, pianoforte solos; and elocutionary items by Miss Edna Thomas and Miss Xoni Wright.
Among those present were:—Mesdames Shrubsall, Stormont, H. Loch, Nello Porter, Cliff Clarke, I. Crompton, Russell, 'Williamson; Misses Ethel Rae, Nora Phillipps, Sybil Phillipps, Molly Creagh, Gladys McAneney, Doris Bagnail, Freda Crozer, Ida Moore, Dorothy Lowe, Edna Thomas, Noni Wright, Yvonne Lock, Dora Fenton, Pat Boyle, Lawrie Hammil, Gwen Atkins, Rhoda Hare, Reka Patterson, Nancy Patterson, Joyce Wright, K. Bruce, J. Fish, C. Hatswell, J, Chapman, Ella Craig, Madge Craig.
