FARM MORTGAGES.

FINAL ADJUSTMENTS.

ATTITUDE TOWARDS ACT.

(By Telegraph.—tress Association.)

ELTHAM, this day.

Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmont, while speaking at Kaponga last night, stated that farmers were apparently reluctant to avail themselves of the Mortgagors' Final Adjustment Bill. He said that reputable solicitors in Taranaki were advising their clients not to avail themselves of the Act. However, he had solemnly advised farmers who were in financial difficulties not to accept such advice without full consideration of the consequences, and not to enter into anv voluntary settlements that would not allow a 'reasonable chance of success and provide for rea-» sonable working and living conditions. Mr. Wilkinson said that when m doubt farmers should take full advantage of the Act, which Parliament had provided in order to assist them in their financial difficulties.
