MINOR 'FLOODING.
RESULT OF HEAVY RAIN.
FALL OF OVER 1.32 INCHES.
Flooding in several outlying suburbs occurred to-day as the result of several hours of continuous, rain early this morning. The fall in the city for the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m.' totalled 1.32 in, the greater part of which was recorded between 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock this morning. With the month less than a third gone, the rainfall to rtate is 2.67 in, more than half the average fall for July of y.o7m. The Automobile Association reported this morning that the main highway between Takapuna and Silverdale was flooded in three places, at Takapuna, Dairy Flat, and Glenfield, but that traffic had not been held up. The Otahuhu golf course this morning was unplayable owing to most of the holes being under water, while the Mahia btream between Takanini and Manurewa was in flood. • As the result of the stream running through the Dilworth property at Manurewa overflowing its banks a number of neighbouring paddocks were flooded. Minor floodings were reported from other districts. The reading of the barometer at the Government Observatory at Albert Park at 9 o'clock this morning was 30.0 Gin, as compared with 29.87 in at .the same hour yesterday. The wind at that hour was from the south-south-west.
