FORMER CHAIRMAN.

HARBOUR BOARD FAREWELL

Prior to their departure on a six months' tour overseas Mr. T. B. Clay, past chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, and Mrs. Clay were farcwelled yesterday afternoon by members and past riiembers of the board at a gathering in the board room. Messages of good will were received from former members of the board who were unable to be present. Mr. IT. E. Mackenzie, who acted as host, said that such a representative gathering spoke eloquently of the esteem and affection that was held by the citizens of Auckland for Mr. Clay. Those present wished both Mr. and Mrs. Clay a pleasant holiday. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Clay left by the Aorangi for Sydney.
