(British Official Wireless.) ® (Received 1 p.m.) 3 RUGBY, July 5. s A Note was to-day handed to the 5 German Ambassador to London, Herr J von Hoescli, in reply to a recent inquiry from Berlin as to tho effect of the j Franco-Soviet pact on the undertakings i given under the Locarno Treaty. A s similar inquiry was addressed to other Locarno signatory Powers. r Tho terms of tho French memorandum f in reply has been carefully studied by ■ His Majesty's Government, which has ; been in close consultation with the t French Government. . Tho British Note states that the Government agrees with tho view expressed by tho French memorandum and that, so far as Britain is concerned, tho provisions of the Locarno Treaty are in no way modified or defined by the new treaty. !
