TIENTSIN'S WORST FIRE.
FOUGHT BY TROOPS. TIENTSIN, China, May 25. What was described as the worst fire in the history of Tientsin swept the downtown section of the British Concession, destroying numerous British and Japanese-owned buildings. Soldiers of the United States Fifteenth Infantry stationed here played a leading role in assisting the inadequate concession fire department in fighting •the blaze, and they received credit for preventing the destruction of a far greater area. The fire started in the spire of All Saints' Church while the congregation below were participating in a baby i christening ceremony.
