DOWN QUILTS.
When an eiderdown has once been washed it will usually produce the complaint that the filling works its way to the bottom, leaving the upper half of the quilt so unpadded that it yields no warmth to the shoulders. A vigorous shaking will not always adjust the weight. The' more satisfactory method is to reverse the eiderdown so that its upper half covers the lower end of the bed. By degrees the filling will distribute itself ever'y, and subsequent daily reversal of the quilt will maintain the balance between one end and the other.
