Dun ford, who lias been in charge of the Dargavillo police district for three years, has received notice of his transfer to Devonport. He was oiie of the officers detailed for special duty oil the occasions of the last three Eoyal visits to New Zealand. He is a capable and popular member of the force. Ho will be . succeeded by Sergeant F. Gulloty, of Palmerston North.
