CAR'S HIGH SPEED.
I OFFENCE NEAR PAPAKURA
A lacly driver of a luxurious air-flow ear mimed Uremia Edmonds, of Christ' church, was charged by Inspector Clissold, Main Highways inspector, with travelling at u speed of between 42 arid 01 miles per hour between Slippem Creek. Drury, and l'apakura, on June 10. Mr. Bryce Hart, for defen&iiii. said in the' Papakura Court, yesterday that liis client did not deny the speed, but she was a stranger to these parts and thought it was a country place witli few inhabitants, and when she saw another car she could not resist passing it. However. Inspector C'issold happened to be the occupant of the other car. The Inspector: It was a serious offence. Children were about at the time. A fine of 70/ and 10/ costs was imposed. 1
