EXECurrv'E meeting. ;• STANDARDISING EIGHTS OPPOSED. The adjourned meeting of the Auckland Rowing Association's executive was held last night, Mr. G.'G. Herdman presiding. In referring to the death of the late Mr. G. Hogan, vice-patron of the association, Mr. Herdman made feeling reference to his activities in the sport, anil stated that rowing had lost a powerful, influential supporter. On his motion a vote of condolence to Mr. Hogan's family was carried, the members standing in silence. Correspondence was received from Mr. E. Davis, N.Z.A.R.A., Tauranga and Waiteniata Clubs, and the Mercer Regatta Club. It was decided that the question of the disposal of the eight-oar boat be lqft over until the question of the standardisation of eights has been settled by the N.Z.A.R.A. . The Mercer Regatta Club made application for the last Saturday in February, 1936, for ite annual regatta. It was decided to book the date pending confirmation by the new executive. After a lengthy discussion the following resolution was carried: -"That the N.Z.A.R.A. be informed this association disapproves of ' the standardisation of eights, and requires information as to when this question will come up for consideration." The accounts presented were passed for payment.
