EDUCATIONAL WEEK.

In connection with the educational week arranged by the Waitemata provincial executive of. the women's division of the Farmers' Union an enjoyable luncheon was held yesterday ■at George Court's tearooms. The function was organised by Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell and Mrs. R. D. Judson, president and secretary respectively of the Auckland branch. A talk was afterwards given by Mr. J. W. Shaw on "Books," and Mr. N. Richmond also spoke. Present at the luncheon were Meedames Mitchell, Judson, N. Neilson, S. Kemp, Williamson, Pearson, W. MacCormack, G. M. Marsh, Miss Dodd and the group of girls. In the afternoon the party was taken to Penrose to visit the works of a manufacturing firm, and in the evening they attended a lecture by Mr. John Tait,. on "The Progress of Song." The lecture was illustrated by Miss Anderson, Mr. Jeffreys and Alan Gordon.
