AGREEMENT REACHED?
AUSTRALIA'S MEAT EXPORT. MELBOURNE, June 20. The acting-Prime Minister of the Commonwealth, Dr. Earle Page, announced to-day that a cablegram had been received from the Prime Minister,, Mr J A. Lyons, announcing that an agreement had been reached whereby the whole of Australia's production of export mutton, lamb and beef m the July-September period could be shipped to the United Kingdom. This agreement had been reached pending the negotiation of a long-term agreement. Official estimates of Australian meat exports for the third quarter, said Dr. Page, were: — Mutton and Lamb.—4so,ooocwt. Chilled Beef.—l4o,ooocwt. Frozen Beef and Veal.-710,000cwt.

NO NEWS FROM LONDON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The acting-Minister of Finance. Mr. A. Hamilton, stated to-night that no advice had been received from the Ministers in London as to an agreement similar to that with Australia having been reached in respect of New Zealand meat exports.
