WHALING INDUSTRY.
Agreement Between Norway And British Interests. CONSERVING FISHING. ■ » (Received 12 noon.) OSLO, June 14. Cabinet lias sanctioned a law, after consultation with British interests, authorising the limitation of production of the entire whaling fleet to a single factory and forbidding Norwegians to participate in whaling under conditions less rigorous than the new law imposes. It is expected that next season's catch will be limited to 2,000.000 casks, compared with 2,250,000 last year in three months' instead of four months' fishing. The preservation of whales is extended to territory south of 40 degrees, compared with 50 degrees south latitude, involving many thousands of square miles.
