BOY KILLED.
INVOLVED IN COLLISION
COUNTY CHAIRMAN IN CAR,

HAWERA, this day,
The death of Clarence Wills, of Patea, aged 14, followed after a collision which occurred at 5 o'clock laet evening between his bicycle and a car driven by Mr. W. G. Bolton, of Ngatu-whera, chairman of the Patea County Council, on the main road near Patea.
The boy had been delivering milk, and was returning in the teeth of driving wind and rain to his home, within a few yards of where the accident occurred. While the boy was crossing the road he came into collision with tho car. Tho cycle struck the left headlamp, the boy pitching forward and striking his head against tho sun visor projecting in advance of the car's hood and windscreen.
Tho car was stopped at once, and it was found that the boy was bleeding profusely from severe head injuries. Accompanied by his father, Mr. A. J. T. Willis, who had rushed out, ho was taken by Mr. Belton to the home of Dr. W. T. Simmons, who was later found at the Patea Hospital. Tho boy died about two hour 3 later.
