DOZIE TAKES STEEPLES. BOUDOIK AND CAWBEEN WINHURDLES TO ROYAL BANQUET. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Thursday. The winter meeting of the Hawkee Bay Jockey Club was opened to-day in fine weather, but as the result of recent rain the track was soft. Royal Banquet, ridden by the Auckland horseman J. H. Mcßae, won the Hawke's Bay Hurdles. The best dividend of the day was returned by the Lucullus mare" Dozic, when she defeated the favourite Cotsfield in the June Steeplechase. Boudoir wes successful ill the Winter Handicap, and Cawbeen beat Slippevy in the Herctaunga Handicap. • .
