FACTORY REFORM.

RODNEY DISSATISFACTION.

PRESENT VOTING SYSTEM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

WARKWORTH, Saturday.

Dissatisfaction which is felt by a number of disenfranchised suppliers to the local dairy factory, has found expression in the formation of the Rodney Suppliers' Association for Factory Reform, which seeks to institute the principle of "dne man,' one vote" a6to the affairs of the Ideal dairy ".company. At a meeting of -the association held this weeK; tlie. principal speaker was Mr. B. Mulleiy his subject being "The present parlous and unsatisfactory state of the New Zealand dairying industry."' He traced the cauee of the troubles within the industry to, the total lack of "true" co-operation, and to the gradual disenfranehisement of the individual rank and file supplier, this process having culminated an the recent "Agricultural (Emergency) Powers Act," which whilst completely disenfranchising , the ordinary supplier, conferred the privilege of voting for representatives on the reconstituted Dairy Board to dairy company directors only. It wae the speaker's contention that owing largely to the adoption of "oneshare one vote" principle, the average rank and iile supplier in the Dominion had never had a fair chance of making his influence felt. The best reform that could be instituted would be the establishment of all factories on a democratic basis by the adoption of the "one man one vote" principle.
