VALUELESS CHEQUES.
AUSTRALIAN SENT TO GAOL.
(Isy Telegraph..—Fress Assoclition.) WELLINGTON, this daySentence of six months' hard labour was imposed on Hugh Anthony Parker, aged 28, by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., to be followed by eighteen months' reformative treatment.
Accused pleaded guilty to obtaining goods and money by means of valueless cheques here and at Hastings and on the Limited express.
It was stated that he was from Australia and had collected "quite a list" since he came over.
